Educating People about Gum Disease
I haven’t written for a while and thought I ought to catch everyone up.

Second of all, I’ve been spending a large portion of my time working on the Gingivitis Killer website. I started out passionate about the subject, but the more I delve into it, the more strongly I see the need for the public to become aware of gum disease and more importantly, what they can do to prevent it or stop it if they have it. (very doable for the majority of people)
I’m absolutely floored at how little knowledge and understanding exists out there. I mean, seriously, it’s practically crazy.
In my own example, I’ve had occasional bleeding while brushing or flossing for about 15 years. But, I had no idea that was a sign that I had gum disease. The thing is, it is a sign. There shouldn’t be any bleeding upon brushing or flossing. NONE.
I knew that my gums bled while being probed and cleaned at the dentist’s office too. But I don’t think anyone actually impressed upon me that I had gum disease ( or at least what it really meant to have gum disease) until it was time for an expensive treatment - a root scaling and planing.
They wanted to start ‘right away’. I was so opposed to this that I said no and decided to go do some research.
What I found blew me away. The Mayo Clinic’s website says that 80% of Americans have gum disease. Now, you and I both know that a lot of Americans are obsessed with the appearance of their teeth.
To say that 80% have gum disease tells me something very important: regular brushing and flossing must NOT be enough to prevent gum disease. Because, I KNOW that more than 20% of Americans brush and floss.
I can’t imagine what the numbers look like outside of America.
So, if most people on Earth have or will have some form of gum disease or gingivitis, why don’t people know much about this disease?
Well, I didn’t know either and I’m a pretty smart and health conscious guy. So you can bet that if I didn’t know that a little bleeding once in a while from brushing or flossing was abnormal, a whole lot of people don’t know that either.
Not only that, but since I started my little crusade against gum disease, I’ve been noticing other peoples’ gums, when they talk.
I have been seeing red puffy gums on more people than you would think and in only a short period of time. And age doesn’t seem to be a factor in that either.
I’ve read that only 2% of the population has a natural ‘immunity’ to gum disease. That means the other 98% of us are susceptible to the disease. Scary, isn’t it.
On my Gingivitis Killer website, there is an email sign up box (it’s towards the bottom of the page). Go there and sign up now for free updates on Gingivitis and Gum Disease.
I’d like to see more people understand this disease and what to do about it. It makes me sad to think that so many people will lose their gum tissue, make their smiles ugly and lose their teeth (gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss) over something that is totally stoppable and preventable in the first place. (for most of us).
Remember earlier I said that 2% of the population is immune? On the other end of the spectrum, 2% will probably get it no matter what. That leaves 96% of us who can do something about it and keep our teeth for our lifetime.

Oh, what happened to me? I found a combination of tools that worked to stop the progression of the disease and prevent it from returning. That is why I build the Gingivitis Killer website. I think people have a right to know this information. Go there and sign up for the free updates now.
To our good health,
